ANNOUNCEMENT OF DOPING CONFERENCE 10.-12. NOVEMBER 2010 IN COPENHAGEN

 

 

Body enhancements and (il) legal drugs in sport and exercise - human and social perspectives.

The aim of the conference is to share information and knowledge about body enhancement and doping in different countries and different contexts such as elite sports, recreational activities and fitness exercises. At the same time, the event will provide the opportunity for networking and promoting international cooperation in this field.

During the conference participants from various countries will present scientific approaches, current studies, results of their latest research and experience with interventions from their countries with a focus on psychological and sociological perspectives. In this way, we will be able to identify similarities and differences as well as global trends in doping discourses and practices. Point of departure will be the state-of-the-art research on body enhancement and (anti)doping strategies. Based on the exchange of know-ledge the participants from around the world will discuss the current situation and develop innovative concepts for future studies, politics and policies.

Renowned scholars with various backgrounds and perspectives will deliver keynotes. In addition, colleagues working in this field are invited to present papers in thematic sessions.

Registration

There will be no conference fee, but registration is necessary. Deadline for registration is October 1st 2010. A call for abstracts will be sent out in June 2010.
